How do I make my own encaustic medium using beeswax and damar resin?

Please read carefully before beginning! What you will need to make encaustic medium: Griddle and/or saucepan, beeswax and damar (3.2 oz. damar / 1 pound of wax), wooden or metal spoon/spatula, ladle or sieve, Optional: cheesecloth for a finer filtering, muffin tins, scraper, blow torch/heat gun.
